Post Game Pot Lucks
(PGPL's)
PARENTS, this one is just for you! The PGPL's are a great way for you to offer additional support to the Team. Lacrosse has long been a "social sport" and historically followed by a meal. I know as a player &
coach, I've always enjoyed the opportunity for post-game socializing with teammates, family, and friends. This new Aztec Lacrosse Tradition is also an opportunity for you to join together with other parents socially.
Each season we ask for 2-3 parents who can act as "coordinators", organizing who is bringing what and how much. The menu is wide open and can include things like homemade baked goods, sub sandwiches, pizza, salads, chips, etc. The Team currently has a drink sponsor, Honest Beverages (www.honesttea.com), and will supply drinks for each game. The Team will also make sure that there are tables at each home and regional away game.
HOW CAN I HELP?
In order for this to work smoothly each year we need ALL PARENTS to assist in one of two ways.
1. If you know you'll attend a few games, get in contact with the PGPL Coordinators to see what you can bring.
2. If you are unable to attend games, send down a small donation specifically for PGPL use. $10, $25, whatever you can spare will go a long way.
You know better then anyone how much your boy's can eat. So you can double that amount following a game. So far this has been one of the many enjoyable aspects of the "new beginnings" of the program. Please join this Team and continue to improve the overall quality of our program. This game is FUN, and you will be hooked in no time.
For the 2008 Season, Gerry De La Rue and Cristina Rosas have volunteered to act as coordinators for each PGPL. Please contact them with any suggestions, ideas, and to confirm what items you are contributing each game.
